The SHOPMASTER PATRIOT VFD is the result of 27 years of
innovations and has
features and functions designed by us and also from
suggestions of our customers. It
represents the only truly fully
functional lathe and milling machine in a single compact
package.
Unlike other 3 in 1 machines which are variations of our old 1980's
designs,
the PATRIOT is a modern machine with modern functions. In order to offer the most
flexibility in your machine choice, we
have designed the Patriot VFD
as a
manual machine
in its standard form. In this way we keep the price
low for those who have
no need
for
power feeds, threading* or CNC. However, we offer those functions as options in a
variety
of
formats so you may configure the machine to suit your needs.
For example, if you want
simple power feed on X, Y or Z axis, just order the ST 91 single axis power feed.
Later on
you can upgrade to
another axis by simply ordering another stepper motor. Because our
power feed motors
and CNC motors are the same, you may trade in your Power feed
controller towards
the CNC
controller and
use all your existing motors. This modular design
offers each
customer all the
flexibility he needs to configure his machine
at the
beginning
for maximum value, yet allow him
to upgrade as time goes along.

FUNCTION Single phase 220 volt
input to an inverter gives you
smooth powerful 3 phase power to your spindles with
speed adjustment done by electronic controls. All power
feeds and threading are done by stepper drives, allowing
you to change both spindle speeds and feed rates on the fly.
DESIGN The PATRIOT is
designed as a full mill and lathe with no
compromises. Other 3 in 1 machine are basically a lathe
with a mill / drill press
head added on.
